i haven't really listened to much DSBM but i do find some of that effect coming from listening to bands like My Dying Bride and other bands whos themes deal with those darker aspects of the human condition. i often find most pop music to be rather saccharin in its presentation and not reflective of the human experience rather it to me speaks of a thin vainer that people put on to seem "normal"

Controversial take, but I'd dare to call Judas Priest underrated. One of the very oldest thriving metal establishments that did something that neither Metallica or Iron Maiden (who I would consider my favourite band) were unable to do: continue to make great records in the new millenium. Yet, most of the conversation around old metal bands is geared towards how they dipped after their golden eras, maybe we should focus more on positives. I just wish genuinely wish they were more influential, more for my selfish sake. Most of the Judas Priest worship seems to come out in trad metal, just wish there were more bands pushing the envelope with it. It's not just the riffs (which would work great in a melo-death context), but you just never see Halford style vocals. Can't be just me, surely? To be fair I don't really ever hear Dickinson style clean vox either, but while both are incredible vocalists, I believe there's a difference - it is easier to try to sing like Rob than Bruce. Bruce's range is just fucked

By creative differences they may be referring to it in a moral/spiritual sense. Sure they could explore more music with Tilian but if Tilian or the band are feeling incompatibility or like people are growing apart it’s best to respect it imo.

The new Dodsrit absolutely slaps, also been really digging the new Hulder 'Verses in Oath' and The Infernal Sea 'Hellfenlic' in terms of black metal. The Castle Rat debut is also pretty killer, Hekseblad's 'Kaer Morhen' is also high on the list of albums I'm gonna check out. Besides that been on a bit of a jazz kick going back through some Miles Davis and John Coltrane albums I own, also some real solid dungeon synth come out this year so far, Atlantean Sword's 'All is Dust', Iskonge's 'Sounds of Winter', Ulk's 'The Carrier's Blessing' and Dokutsu's 'The Cavern Beneath the Cliff'

ok story time, I went to see killswitch engage back in 2022 and I was in the front. There's this girl behind and she starts acting so weird and seductively. She grabbed onto my hips and whispered if she could get "inside me". Obviously I was uncomfortable and luckily I got someone else to get me to move some feet away. Later I found out her boyfriend was actually there with her and he got mad and left the show early for good reason.

nice video! there is one thing I might add tho: don't stop moving -especially in a circle pit you basicly covered it with the "go with the tempo" but IMO going a bit faster or slower then the others is not as dangerous as suddenly stop in your tracks. the person behind you can/will bump into you and the person behind them too and so on.. ^^

I struggle with mental health issues so i understand how DSBM migh help people, but personally i stay away for it, because I'm the type of person that would be negatively imapacted by that. I don't only listen to happy music, i love death and black metal, some atmospheric or ambient stuff but DSBM is like that border i do not cross for my own sake xd

Ouch, still no Hypocrisy, I guess if you're a Hypocrisy fan you are doomed to have to explain to Metal fans that not only is Hypocrisy a metal band that exists, but their singer has also produced and engineered almost every major metal band to come out of Scandinavia. Id also like to add, Darkthrone, Moonspell, Dissection, Paradise Lost (UKs Metallica with more good albums), Amorphis, Tribulation, Insomniuum.

I'm on testosterone enanthate, not for gender reassignment, more as a steroid cycle. I'm taking 2 - 3 times what mtf transgender individual do and the claim that "going cold turkey can have catastrophic physical effects" is simply not true. No one titrates off testosterone, you just stop and there are no real ill effects aside from feeling lethargic for a few weeks. No one ever died from stopping a test cycle.
